I think that people who come to me for aromatherapy need to be serious about having good skin. So they can tell me what’s important to them. I recommend that they ask me what is deep tissue, and I give them a brief explanation of it. Then I have a lot of the products that I use, and I give them information about their assignments and what their uses are. The My Pleasure is a very good book on aromatherapy by feminized discrete art perfume and established perfume houses.
When people come to me to do aromatherapy with me they already know what I do, but what they don’t know is that they can get the same experience, and they usually do it at home. I don’t guarantee they go away and never come back, but the very fact that they have a choice of where to go and have access to the therapy laboratory makes them a choice that matters. Aromatherapy works as a healing and therapeutic medium by stimulating the power of the emitting note. I believe that one of the main reasons that people are into it so much is because of the power of the note. When the note is emitted by the herb it has a stronger smell than when it is violet, and oftentimes is a deeper color also. I also have the advantage of being able to stimulate their memory with the powerful maxim that ozone (a powerful antioxidant) can have a diminished but not an eliminated benefit. There are a few other factors that affect the aroma of a given herb and perhaps the most obvious factor is storage. Fresh herbs are often more potent than dried ones and will last longer. Several variables affect the aroma of herbs, including the way the herb is prepared, whether the preparation is acidic or alkaline, the way the alcohol is processed, and how spicy the preparation is. Sometimes the strength of a given herb is replaced by a stronger version that is often better when prepared with ice. Sometimes I replace a stronger herb with a weaker one to preserve the overall strength and flavor. If you are going to prepare your herbs for smoking they have to be somewhat potent.
I often prepare my herbs to be used for immediate needs and future needs and I mix sugar, honey, or maple syrup into the herbs and they need to be neutral to start. Many of the remedies I use have immediate use, for example, oil for hemorrhoids; and I will use an additional oil each day for relief after my husband broke his foot. These oils are steeped for several hours to overnight. In some cases, I prepare the oil in the morning and then use it throughout the day. Other times I wait until nighttime and in the morning the oil is used. In these cases, the herbs are applied to a small amount of fat. In these situations I want the immediate use remedy to be as strong as possible immediately. My goal is to be able to use the medicine during and after the injury, rather than waiting until the foot is healed and it can use as a daily reminder of how much I love it.
